Ronald R. Starr, 70, of Thomson, Ill., died Wednesday at in Mercy Medical Center, Clinton.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Law-Jones Funeral Home in Thomson with Pastor Michael Jones of the York Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be at Lower York Cemetery, Thomson. Military rites will be accorded by the Donald Ashpole American Legion Post 1025, Thomson. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

He was born Aug. 14, 1935, in Maquoketa, to Harold and Flossie Grover Starr. He married Lois Bultema on May 29, 1970, in Fulton, Ill.

He was a 1952 graduate of Thomson High School.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He worked as a boilermaker and was a member of Boilermakers Union Local 16.

Survivors include his son, Timothy Starr of Peoria, Ill.; and two brothers, Kenneth (Arlene) Starr and Lowell (Donna) Starr, both of Thomson.
