Eugene Cleveland

CLINTON — Eugene D. Cleveland, 78, of Clinton, died Tuesday at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. Paul Holmer officiating. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Schmitz Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Jacob Broadrick, Brent Broadrick, Stacy Bradour, Jenny Sanders, Brian Bradour, Doug Cleveland, Tim Cleveland and Shela Cleveland; and Gene Reeser, Warren Cant, Dave Johnson, Wayne Goettsch and Mark Barnes.

He was born Nov. 6, 1927, in Clinton to Charles and Grayse Ganahl Cleveland. He married Sherry L. Campbell on July 11, 1951, in Lombard, Ill. She died Sept. 26.

He was a graduate of Clinton High School.

He was a salesman with C.E. Armstrong and Sons in Clinton for many years.

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, and involved with the Jaycees and Nee-Hi’s.

Survivors include two sons, James “Buzz” (Jean) Bradour of Clinton and Emory (Teresa) Cleveland of West Des Moines; one daughter, Debra (Bill) Broadrick of Clinton; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one brother.
