LECLAIRE — Jim Irwin, 55, of LeClaire, died Tuesday at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus, Davenport.

Visitation will be at the Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday. There will be a celebration of his life at 1:30 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church, Davenport. The Rev. Scott Jansen will be officiating. Interment will be in the Glendale Cemetery, LeClaire.

He was born July 19, 1950, in Clinton to Harold and Gladys Dosland Irwin. He married Marilyn Taber on June 27, 1987, in Davenport.

He graduated from Lost Nation High School in 1968 and attended Scott Community College.

He was employed with the Caterpillar Tractor Co., Mount Joy, and farmed in rural Calamus. He also owned and operated Irwin Inc., DeWitt.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Davenport, and a former member of the Calamus Volunteer Fire Department, Calamus School Board and Calamus City Council.

Survivors include his wife; children, Jim (Tara) Irwin Jr. of DeWitt, Sheree Wiebler of Chicago, Jeff Irwin of Davenport, Christian (Lesley) Taber of Minneapolis and Bret Taber of Denver, Colo.; three grandchildren; his father, Harold Irwin of Calamus; two brothers, John Irwin of Maquoketa and Jerry (Ruth) Irwin of Calamus; four sisters, Mrs. Diane (Herb) Wilhelm of Lost Nation, Mrs. Cindy (Brian) Will of Calamus, Mrs. Colleen (Mark) Meggers of DeWitt and Mrs. Kathy (Steve) Marten of New Liberty; one foster sister, Mary Tayloe of Davenport; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the LeClaire Community Library or First Presbyterian Church, Davenport.

He was preceded in death by his mother and one sister-in-law.
