Earl P. McKinzie

CLINTON — Earl P. McKinzie, 88, of Clinton, died Friday at his home.

There will be no visitation and a graveside service will be at a later date. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He was born Oct. 25, 1917, in Harrisburg, Mo., to Nathaniel and Etta Crews McKinzie. He married Helen Chekal on April 14, 1946, in Dubuque.

He graduated from Harrisburg High School.

He worked as a machinist with Waukesha Motors and owned O.K. Rubber Welders.

He was a member of the machinists union and a former member of the Eagle Club and AMVETS. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America. He also donated food to Bethel AME Church for its annual game dinner.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Michele McKinzie of Cedar Falls; one son, Bradley McKinzie of Clinton; and two grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Death Date: Dec. 16, 2005
