CLINTON — Robert Allen “Dad Bob” Boles 58, of Clinton, died Wednesday at his home.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at First Congregational Church with the Rev. Laura R. Renault officiating. Inurnment will follow at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Lemke Funeral Homes, South Chapel, 2600 Lincoln Way.

He was born March 30, 1947 in Centralia, Ill., to Irving and Dorothy Maxwell Boles. He married Karen Nelson on Nov. 14, 1970, in Clinton.

He was a 1966 graduate of Sterling (Ill.) High School.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

He worked as an automotive technician for Volkswagen of America with Quality VW of Clinton for 30 years. He also worked for Don Mullery’s of Dixon, Ill., as a line operator for Drives Inc. in Fulton, Ill., and as a groundskeeper for First Congregational Church.

He was a member of the Sterling-Rock Falls (Ill.) Barber Shop Chorus, Clinton Rod Club and First Congregational Church in Clinton.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, SallyAnn (Scott) Judge of Clinton; three grandchildren; his mother, Dorothy Boles of Morrison, Ill.; three brothers, Richard Boles of Clinton and Wayne (Lisa) Boles and Lyle (Terri) Boles, both of Morrison; two sisters, Geraldine (Rodney) Rose of Chadwick, Ill., Bonnie (Ted) Hubert of Silvis, Ill., and Mary (Larry) Skipper of Clinton; two sisters-in-law, Kay Lynn Nelson and Kim (Randy) Frahm, both of Clinton; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family.

He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents and son.
