Mary Judge

Mary P. Judge, 83, of Clinton, died Monday, December 12, 2005, at Mercy Medical Center, North Campus, Clinton.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be 10:00am, Saturday, December 17, 2005, at Prince of Peace Parish, Saint Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Anthony Herold officiating. Burial will follow at the Saint Mary‚s Catholic Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons: William Amrhein, Michael Amrhein, James Krueger, Gerald Krueger, Patrick Judge, Devin Judge, Samuel Kravitz, and Ryan Judge. Serving as an honorary pallbearer will be Eli Judge. Visitation will be Friday from 3:00pm to 7:00pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home.

Mary P. Gill was born on January 4, 1922, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of William and Helen (Colgan) Gill. She attended Little Flower School in Chicago and Immaculate Conception Academy in Davenport, Iowa, graduating in 1940. She then married Marion A. Judge on June 14, 1945 in Tacoma, Washington; he later died May 31, 1988.

She was employed at Nielsen’s Clearing House for many years and later was a teachers aid for special needs students at Henry Sabin Elementary School.

She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, the past-President of St. Mary’s PTA, past secretary of St. Mary’s Altar and Rosary Society, and a former member of the Iowa Association of Education Office Personal.

She is survived by four daughters: Kathleen (Chuck) Amrhein of Lexington, Tennessee, Mary Pat Krueger of Clinton, Iowa, Julie (Ronald) Kravitz or Vernon Hills, Illinois, and Monica (Adam) Ferguson of Clinton, Iowa; five sons: William (Bettina Getz) Judge of River Forrest, Illinois, Michael (Valerie) Judge of Clinton, Iowa, John (Sandy) Judge of Nashville, Tennessee, Gerald (Ellen) Judge of Columbus, Ohio, and James (Barbra) Judge of Dallas, Texas; 22 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; and Deborah and Jeff Greve of Clinton, Iowa who were like children to her; one sister: Therese O‚Grady of Coloma, Michigan; three brothers: Joseph (Mary) Gill of Orland Park, Illinois, Bill (Virginia) Gill of Oak Lawn, Illinois, and Cmdr. Daniel Gill, USN, Ret. of Seattle, Washington; sister-in-laws: Janice Gill of Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, and Corrine Judge of Davenport, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers: Michael Gill, and the Rev. Francis Gill, and one sister: Catherine Gill.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to a charity of your choice.
