RICHARD MEGGENBERG

Richard Meggenberg, 79, of Savanna, died Thursday at Big Meadows Nursing Home, Savanna.

The body will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

He was born Oct. 4, 1926, in Dubuque to Richard and Rosemary Lightfoot Meggenberg Sr. He married Diane Freese in Dubuque.

He attended Washington High School in Dubuque.

He worked with the railroad as a switchman in the Dubuque area for many years.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Angela (Jim) Wakefield of Savanna; one son, Rick (Rene) Meggenberg of Rockford, Ill.; three grandchildren; and one sister, Leona Meggenberg.
