Berniece Kuykendall

Berniece Kuykendall, 98, of Bluff Terrace Nursing Facility and formerly of Fulton, Ill., died Thursday at the nursing home.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home with the Rev. Stanley Bomgarden, pastor of Fulton Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Fulton Township Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Monday from 1 p.m. until the service time.

She was born May 30, 1907, in Pisgah to John and Bertha Small Erway. She married Charles G. Kuykendall on Jan. 10, 1932, in Omaha, Neb. He died in 1993.

She graduated from high school in Modale and in 1930 graduated from the Creighton/St. Joseph’s Hospital Training School for Nurses, Omaha.

She worked in hospitals in the Hammond and Gary, Ind., area from the mid-1950s to the mid-1960s.

She was a member of Fulton Presbyterian Church and a 50-year member of Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include one son, Paul (Jane) Kuykendall of Fulton; and two nieces.
