Ruth Ryder

Ruth E. Ryder, 92, of Clinton, died Tuesday at Mercy North Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lemke Funeral Homes, South Chapel, 2600 Lincoln Way, Clinton, with the Rev. Elizabeth Liggett of St. Paul Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Gary Adkins, Niel Bender, Paul Davis, Scott Hammer, Troy Huebbe, Lester Humphreys, Don McKinley, Russell Petersen, Brent Ryder, Mark Schroeder, Danny Thomas and G.V. James.

She was born Feb. 16, 1913, in Blairsville, Pa., to Paul and Flora Belle Thompson Waugaman. She married Eldon H. Ryder June 27, 1948, in Blairsville.

She graduated from Blairsville High School in 1932.

She worked as a clerk for the U.S. government in Washington, D.C., and later for Schick Hospital in Clinton.

Survivors include a daughter, Jane Jensen of Clinton; a son, Paul (Pam) Ryder of Clinton; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Elma Wakefield of Clarion, Pa., Carolyn Sherrill of Blairsville and Julia (Pat) Ricca of Pittsburgh; one brother, John Waugaman of Tucson; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four sisters and two brothers.
