Mark Bowstead 04/29/1999 DeWITT, Iowa -- Mark A. Bowstead, of DeWitt, died Wednesday, April 28, 1999, at Samaritan Hospital North, Clinton. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, with a wake at 8 p.m. Mr. Bowstead farmed and was employed as a switchman for Northwestern Railroad in Clinton. He was born July 27, 1949, in Iowa City. During the Vietnam War, he served with the Navy in San Diego. A memorial fund has been established. Survivors include a daughter, Amy Fratzke, Ankeny; a son, Lee A., Council Bluffs; his parents, Thomas and Mary Bowstead, DeWitt; a sister, Ann Garrity, DeWitt; and brothers, Dr. Thomas III, Colma, Calif., Paul L., Salt Lake City, and David J., Bettendorf.
