The Clinton Herald Friday December 24, 1915 p. 8 Frederick Christian Todtz, aged sixty-three years, a prominent Clinton County dairy man, passed away Thursday evening at 8:30 o'clock at his home three miles north of Lyons, after an illness of several months duration, which developed into pneumonia, resulting in his death. Deceased was born July 1, 1852 in Eckelsburg, Germany, was united in marriage in 1875 to Miss Caroline Cop, and the following year came to America and to Clinton where they resided until seventeen years ago when they removed to their present home near the city limits. Besides the grief stricken wife, he is survived by seven sons, Fred of Missouri Valley, John of Fulton, Williaim, Louis, Charles, Albert and Henry of this city. Five grandchildren, four sisters, Mrs. George Langschwager and Mrs. Fred Guhl of Olin, Mrs. John Schroeder and Mrs. John Luembke of Chicago, also one brother in Germany. The funeral will be held Monday afternoon at 12:30 o'clock from the residence with services at St. John's Lutheran church at 2 o'clock. Rev. Hugo Gromm willl officiate and preach the funeral sermon. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery.
