The Clinton Herald Monday August 25, 1913 p. 8 Following an illness covering a long period of timie, Mrs. Sarah T. Stockwell, one of the pioneer residents of this city, answered death's call, the end occuring at her home in South Seventh street about 5:15 o'clock Saturday afternoon and coming as a result of the dropsical condition, combined with the infirmities of old age. At the time of death, the deceased was nearly ninety-one years of age, having been born December 21, 1822. Mrs. Stockwell was a well known resident of this city, having made her ome here for a great many years. She was a member of the Congregational church in which, while able, she was an active worker. Surviving her is one daughter, Mrs. A.D. Clarke of Dallas, Tex., who is here now, called by her mother's illness and subsequent death. There are also three grandchild. Her husband, the late Ira Stockwell, passed away about sixteen years ago. Funeral services were arranged for 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon, to be held at the late home, with Rev. W. S. Leete officiating. Interment was in Oakland cemetery.
