The Clinton Advertiser Tuesday August 9, 1921 p. 2 Mrs. Anna Joens, a former resident of this city, passed away this morning at Manning, Ia., at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Carsten Struve. The body will be brought to Clinton and funeral announcements will be given later. A complication of diseases resulting from the infirmaties of old age was the cause of her death. The deceased was born in Germany and was 85 years 5 months and 20 days old at the time of her death. Left to mourn are her six daughters and one son, Mrs. Carsten Struve and Mrs. Jurgen Joens of Manning, Mrs. J. McMahon of Peoria, Mrs. N.T. Nielsen and Mrs. Anne Jessen and George Joens of Clinton. Also surviving are 42 grand children and thirty great-grandchildren.
