The Clinton Herald Monday April 19, 1971 p. 8 Harold K. Joens, 55, 1034 College Ave., died Sunday in his home. The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in St. Stephens Lutheran Church with the Rev. Robert Lorenz officiating. Burial will be in Clinton Memorial Park. Friends may call at teh Snell-Smith funeral home after 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. Mr. Joens was born Feb. 14, 1916, in Clinton, the son of George and Christine Ipsen Joens. He married Mildred Krongard Dec. 26, 1945, in Clinton. He was a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a salesman for the Farm House Corporation. Survivors include one son, Steven K., with the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.; one brother, Frank of Cedar Rapids; six sisters, Mrs. William (Loretta) Sievers and Mrs. Elsie Monaghan both of Clinton, Mrs. Helen Sepanek of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Isabel Vogel and Mrs. Merlin (Esther) Howe both of Morrison and Dorothy (Bakke) of Sycamore, Ill., and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife in June of 1970 and one brother.
