The Clinton Herald Monday January 22, 1968 p. 11 Mrs. Claus (Mary) Joens, 73, 512 Main Ave., died Sunday morning in Mercy hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Zion Lutheran church with Rev. Martin S. Bredow officiating. The body will be taken to the church Wednesday afternoon from the Shadduck-Cannon funeral home. The organist will be Mrs. William Rathje and the vocalist will be Mrs. Edwin Schipper. Friends may call at the funeral home today. Pallbearers will be Ralph Joens, Donald Stolk, Meredith Young, Jerry Ramig, LeRoy Gielow and LeRoy Voelkers. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery. Mrs. Joens was born Oct. 26, 1894 in Clinton county, the daughter of Theodore and Dorothy Everson Stolk. She was educated in Clinton county schools and married Claus Joens on Oct. 29, 1913. Survivors are her husband; two brothers, Fred Stolk of Bryant and Theodore of Clinton and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter in infancy, four sisters and two brothers.
