The Clinton Herald Monday February 25, 1952 p. 9 Mrs. Claude F. Joens, 70, former Clinton resident, died of a heart attack at 10:45 p.m. Sunday in Omaha, Neb. Word was received here by a sister-in-law, Miss Bertha Joens, 1107 Pershing boulevard. Services will be held Wednesday in All Saints Episcopal church in Omaha. The body will arrive in Clinton Thursday morning and will be taken to the Snell funeral home. A prayer service will be conducted at 2 p.m. that day by Rev. R.T. Dickerson, pastor of St. John's Episcopal church. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery. Mrs. Joens was born Mamie E. Miller, Oct. 3, 1881 in Maquoketa, the daughter of Thomas and Martha A. Miller. She lived in Clinton a number of years, was graduated from Clinton high school in 1901 and taught school here five years. She was married to Claude F. Joens, Sept. 8, 1907. The couple moved to Omaha in 1914 where she made her home until death. Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. C.A. (Margaret) Brown, Spencer, Ia.; one son, Karl M. Joens, Omaha; one granddaughter; one sister, Mrs. Zeda McClusky of Clinton and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and one sister.
