The Clinton Herald Monday October 27, 1975 p. 12 Hans H. Joens, 86, of 722 Main Ave., died Saturday at Mercy Hospital. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Shadduck-Cannon Funeral Home with the Rev. Stanley Peterson of Zion Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Fay Anderson, Clifford and Raymond Eggers, William and Peter Gradert, and Elmer Schoel. He was born in Clinton County on March 19, 1889, the son of Peter and Hanna Peters Joens. He was married to Carrie Stolk, who died in 1951. He married June Litscher on Feb. 20, 1957. He farmed all his life, and moved to Clinton following his retirement in 1948. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Loyal Order of the Moose. Surviving are his widow; a son, Ralph, Clinton; and one grandchild. He was preceded in death by his first wife, four brothers, and five sisters.
