The Clinton Herald Saturday July 22, 1960 p. 10 Mrs. Peter Joens, 68, 606 Main avenue, died about 10:15 a.m. today in Merch hospital, where she had been a patient for six week. Widow of a former Clinton county supervisor, she had been in failing health for 13 years. The body is in the Shadduck funeral home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the St. John's Lutheran church, of which she was a member, with the Rev. Paul Burgdorf officiating. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery. Mrs. Joens was born Anna Kuehl, the daughter of John and Elizabeth Kuehl, May 13, 1882, near Andover. She married Peter Joens in 1906 and they farmed in Hampshire township until moving to Clinton in 1919. Mr. Joens died in 1932. A sister and two brothers also preceded Mrs. Joens in death. She is survived by a brother, William, of Clinton, and nieces and nephews.
