The Clinton Herald Tuesday October 21, 1941 p. 5 William E. McEleney, 61, died at 7:40 this morning in his home 2424 Pershinig boulevard, following a long illness. The body reposes in the home. Funeral services will be held at 9 o'clock Thursday morning in St. Boniface church with the Rev. Louis Rohret, pastor, officiating. Mr. McEleney, the son of Patrick and Susan McEleney, was born in the old town of Lyons, Jan.30, 1880. Practically his entire life was spent in this community. He was educated in St. Irenaeus school. On June 6, 1905, he and Miss Agnes Bradley were married. A machinist by trade, he was employed by the Collis Company and was a member of the International Association of Machinists, the Catholic Order of Foresters and St. Boniface church. Surviving are his wife, three children, Mrs. Kenneth Gohlmann, Davenport, Miss Mae McEleney at home and Kenneth McEleney of Clinton, one granddaughter, Sharon Gohlmann, one sister, Mrs. Leonard Cosman, Clinton, one brother, Leo McEleney, Clinton, and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, and a brother, Emmett, in 1929.
