The Clinton Herald Thursday February 19, 1959 p. 14 Mrs. John W. McEleney, 80, 2825 Roosevelt St., died at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday in Mercy hospital. The body is at the Pape funeral home where friends may call after 7 p.m. today. The St. Irenaeus parish rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, in St. Irenaeus church. Burial will be in St. Irenaeus Calvary cemetery. Born Mary Alice Lonergan, in Clinton, Jan. 8, 1879, she was the daughter of Peter and Catherine McMullen Lonergan. She was married April 17, 1907 at St. Mary's church, to John W. McEleney. She was a member of St. Irenaeus church; Lady of Fatima society, and the Legion of Mary society. Surviving are a son, Rev. J. Walter McEleney of Colfax; three daughters, Miss Unice McEleney, at home, Mrs. James H. (Katheryn) Jones of Fulton, Ill., and Mrs. Robert J. (Mary) Burns of Clinton; four grandsons and three granddaughters; six great-grandchildren' three brothers, Louis, and Walter Lonergan of Clinton, and William Lonergan of Chicago, and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; one son; a daughter, and six brothers.
