The Clinton Herald Monday May 3, 1959 p. 11 George H. Bott Sr., 85, 3019 Cleveland St., died Sunday morning at the Clinton Nursing home, where he had been in failing health the past year. The body is at the Shadduck funeral home where friends may call. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. (DST) Tuesday in the funeral home, with Rev. M.S. Bredow, pastor of Zion Lutheran church, officiating. Burial will be at Clinton Memorial Park cemetery. George Bott was born May 11, 1873, in Hampshire township, the son of the late Peter and Anna Joens Bott. He was married Jan. 31, 1900, to Miss Laura Anderson. The couple farmed in the Hampshire township until retiring 20 years ago. He was a member of the Odeon association. Surviving are 4 sons, Peter, Elmer, Alvin and George Jr., all of near Clinton; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, John Bott of near Clinton and Hans, Clinton, and nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his wife, in 1957; a brother, Peter, and 2 sisters, Mrs. Herman Schoel and Mrs. Emil Schwartz.
