The Clinton Herald Monday November 11, 1929 p. 5 Mrs. Anna Bott, 85, passed away Saturday evening at 8:15 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Herman Schoel, 2528 North Third street. She had been seriously ill for several days. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Herman Schoel home. Interment will be in the Dierks cemetery. Anna Margaret Joens was born October 15, 1844 in Erfde, Germany, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jurgen Joens. She was baptised and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Germany. In June 1868 she came to America with her parents and settled in Hampshire township, in which vicinity she has always resided. She was married to Peter Bott July 6, 1870 in Lyons, and resided on a farm in Hampshire township until sixteen years ago when they moved to Andover. Mr. Bott preceded his wife in death March 24, 1926. Since the death of her husband Mrs. Bott has resided with her daughter Mrs. Schoel. Of her immediate family she is survived by four sons, Peter Bott, George Bott, John Bott and Han-- Bott and two daughters, Mrs. Herman Schoel and Mrs. Emil Schwarz, thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren, a brother Joen and a sister Mrs. George Mahr preceded her in death.
