The Clinton Herald Tuesday November 15, 1927 p. 8 Hans Bott, age 88, a highly respected and prominent Clinton county pioneer, passed away this morning at 2 o'clock at the home of his niece, Mrs. Emil Schwarz residing seven miles northwest of Lyons. Mr. Bott was stricken ill Friday while visiting at the home of his niece. The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Emil Schwarz home. Burial will be in the Dierks cemetery. Deceased was born in Erfde, Germany, January 15, 1839, and was 88 years, and ten months of age at the time of his demise. He was baptised in the German Lutheran church in Germany. In 1865 he came with his parents to America, and they settled in Hampshire township. Following the death of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Bott he resided with his brother, Peter Bott on a farm near Andover. In 1926 Peter Bott passed away, since then he resided with his niece, Mrs. Herman Schoel northwest of this city. Of his immediate family his is survived by one sister-in-law, Mrs. Peter Bott, Sr., and the following nieces and nephews; Mrs. Herman Schoel, Mrs. Emil Schwars, Peter Bott, George Bott, John Bott and Hans Bott.
