The Clinton Herald Monday September 8, 1941 p. 5 Michael McEleney, 79, of 3017 Pershing boulevard, died at 8 o'clock this morning in his home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The body will repose in the home. Mr. McEleney was born Feb. 28, 1862, in Ireland, the son of William and Katherine McEleney. He and Bridget Rogers of Boone were married June 2, 1888, in Clinton. Mr. McEleney was a veteran vlunteer fireman in this city. He was a member of the Catholic faith. Surviving are the widow, two daughters, Mrs. Henry (Mary) Bruhn of Clinton and Mrs. George (Alice) Goldsberry of Des Moines; four sons, Howard, William and Frank McEleney of Clinton and Louis of Tacoma, Wash.; three brothers, Edward McEleney of Chicago and Barney and Neal of Boston, Mass., and eight grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents, one son, Edward; three brothers, William, James and Patrick, and two sisters, Susan and Bridget.
