The Clinton Herald Tuesday June 4, 1929 p. 5 Emmett J. McEleney, 2923 North Second street, of the firm of McEleney Auto Co., passed away this morning at 10:40 o'clock at Mercy hospital. Death was due to a cerebral hemorrhage. Apparently in the best of health Mr. McEleney had left his garage about 9:30 o'clock last evening and was en route to the Clinton post office when stricken ill in North Third street. He was removed to Mercy hospital about 11:30 o'clock, where his condition became grave. Emmett McEleney was born in Lyons May 27, 1886 and was forty-three years of age at the time of his demise. he was a son of the late Patrick and Susan McEleney. His marrage to Mayme Wolf took place in May, 1921. Besides his wife he is survived by a step-daughter, Miss Esther Wulf, one sister, Mrs. Leonard Cosman and two brothers, William McEleney and Leo McEleney of this city. No funeral plans have been announced. In the death of Mr. McEleney the community loses one of its most respected and progressive citizens, a man held in high esteem, because of his many strong and congenial qualities. He was a skilled automobile mechanic and well known to the public through his long association in business in Main avenue.
