CLINTON — Claire Ellen Dodge Behr, 75, of Clinton, died Tuesday at her home.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Connie Peake officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory.

She was born July 12, 1930, in St. Louis to Ray and Bonnie Heller Dodge. She married Robert E. Behr on May 9, 1954.

She was a 1948 graduate of Clinton High School. She graduated from Stephens College and the University of Iowa with a degree in commerce.

She worked as a bookkeeper and business manager with Ray Dodge Motors, director of the Y-Teen and 18 to 30 club at the YWCA, advocate for the district court for more than 17 years as well as managing a farm and real estate. She served on the Governor's Advisory Board and was the recipient of the Wayne Currin Bruce Meritorious Service Award in 1981 and the Liberty Bell Award in 1984 for community service.

She was a Girl Scout leader for more than 20 years and served on the boards for several community organizations. She also helped establish the Pathways Living Center.

She was a member of the GFWC, PEO Chapter KY, Order of the Eastern Star, Rebecca Lodge, Agatha Auxiliary and First Presbyterian Church where she served as past deaconess.

Survivors include two sons, Rob Behr of San Diego and David (Lisa) Behr of Clearbrook, Va.; two daughters, Carole Behr of Clinton and Mrs. Bonnie (Mike) Espey of Clinton; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

The family requests that memorials be made to the family, which will be divided between various charities.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
