June 29, 1993 James "Jocko" Brundage, 45, of Sabula, died today at Savanna City Hospital, of natural causes. The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Calvary Lutheran Church in Sabula with Rev. Robert Krueger officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Law-Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Brundage was born July 27, 1947, in Savanna, to James Robert and Isabelle Evelyn Mangler Brundage. He married Susan Kay Struve, Dec. 6, 1969, in Nashua, Iowa. He worked as an engineer for the Soo Line Railroad for 28 years. He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Ducks Unlimited and United Transportation Union. He enjoyed hunting, snowmoviling and fishing. He was a 1965 graduate of Sabula High School and had served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Survivors include his wife; his parents of Sabula; a daughter, Monica of Sabula; a son, Jeff of Cedar Rapids; his grandfather, Walter Brundage of Harrah, Okla.; a brother, Dan "Beno" of Sabula; four sisters, Mrs. Jack (Sandra) Kempter and Mrs. Dan (Kristi) Johnson, both of Sabula, Mrs. Dick (Kathy) Schoenhaar of Savanna, and Mrs. Dennis (Tanya) Heintz of Fairfax, Iowa. He was preceded in death by a brother, a niece and his grandparents. Death date: June 29, 1993.
