The Clinton Herald Cheryl Ann Wieck, 44, of Fort Worth, Texas, died Monday at Harris Methodist Hospital. The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Grand Mound, with the Rev. Dennis Arndt officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday at the Schultz Funeral Home in DeWitt. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in DeWitt. She was born Jan. 10, 1957, in DeWitt to Elvis and Evelyn Baasch Wieck. She graduated from Calamus High School in 1975 and attended Wartburg College. She graduated from Hawkeye Institute of Technology where she earned an associate of applied arts degree in commercial art in 1978. She moved to Fort Worth in 1978 and did freelance work under the name of Cheryl Wieck Design and Production Studio. She also was employed with Type Case as a graphic artist. Survivors include her parents of DeWitt; a sister, Mrs. Kathlyn (Wilhelm) Hofmann of Werneck, Germany; a nephew; and several aunts and an uncle. Death date: Feb. 5, 2001. Cheryl Wieck, 44, a graphic artist and digital imaging technician, died Monday, Feb. 5, 2001, from leukemia, at a Fort Worth hospital. Private Memorial Service: Will be held Sunday in Fort Worth. A funeral was held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Grand Mound, Iowa, with the Rev. Dennis Arndt, officiating. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery in DeWitt, Iowa. Cheryl was born Jan. 10, 1957, in DeWitt, to Evelyn and Elvis Wieck. She graduated from Hawkeye Institute of Technology in Waterloo, Iowa, where she earned an associate of applied arts degree in commercial art. Chery was a resident of Fort Worth since 1978. She attended the United Methodist Church. Cheryl;'s musical talents included piano, organ and guitar, but she was especially gifted at the accordian. She enjoyed cross stitch, crochet and quilting, the stories of Garrison Keillor and Walt Disney classics. Her love for animals was abundant as she rescued many strayed or wounded creatures. Cheryl was a good samaritan to friends or strangers in need. Her quick wit, thoughtful deeds and devoted friendship will be sorely missed by her family and friends. The comfort of having a friend may be taken away, but not that of having had one. Survivors: Paraents, Evelyn and Elvis Wieck of DeWitt; sister and family, Kathlyn and Wilhelm Hofmann; nephew, Mark, of Werneck, Germany; aunts, uncle, and many friends.
