The Clinton Herald Monday March 24, 1969 p. 12 Robert P. Lamborn, 90, formerly of Preston, died in his home this morning in Battle Creek, Mich. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral home, Preston, with Rev. Laurence Nelson of the Bellevue Presbyterian church, officiating. Burial will be in Miles cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Lamborn was born Jan. 5, 1879 in Green Island, the son of Percy and Winifred Cahalan Lamborn. He married Lula A. Frahm on Jan. 27, 1918. He was a member of the Bellevue Presbyterian church, Preston OES, and a 50-year member of the Preston Masonic lodge. He was a retired farmer. Survivors include his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Donald F. (Amy) Mills of Battle Creek and one grandson.

Additional note from Rich Lowe (richlowe@web-iowa.com) : Robert Lamborn and his wife were my wife's great-grandparents. Robert's father should have been listed as "Perry" . . . not "Percy". I don't know if the newspaper had it wrong on the transcription was wrong.
