: The Clinton Herald Wednesday July 14, 1965 p. 5 Mrs. Bertha M Schwartz, 68, of Route 2, Clinton, died in her home at 1:30 a.m. today after a lengthy illness. Friends may call at the Pape funeral home after 7 p.m. today. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home, with Rev. C.W. Hulsether of Elvira Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery. Mrs. Schwartz was born in Clinton Feb. 11, 1897, to John and Anna Nielsen Struve. She was married Jan. 20, 1932 in Clinton to Ernest W. Schwartz. She was a member of the Community Congregational church in Clinton and of Lyons Chapter, Order of Eastern Star. Surviving are one son, Richard of rural Clinton; three brothers, Hans N. Struve of Turlock, Calif.; and Clarence J. Struve, Clinton; and two sisters, Miss Emma Struve and Miss Olive M. Struve, both of Clinton. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1947, one brother and one sister.

The Clinton Herald Friday July 16, 1965 p. 13 Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha M. Schwartz, 68, Route 2, Clinton, who died Wednesday, were held at 1 p.m. today at the Pape funeral home. The Rev. C.W. Hulsether, pastor of Elvira Lutheran church, officiated. Mrs. Herbert Settn was organist and Fred Kube vocalist. Burial was in Oakland cemetery. Pallbearers were Donald, Wesley and Fritz Schwartz, Earl and Fred Bartels and Donald Dethman.
