The Clinton Herald Wednesday June 6, 1962 p. 5 Mrs. Joseph Struve, 67, of Sabula died at 8:15 a.m. today in the Savanna Hospital where she underwent surgery Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Calvary Lutheran Church, Sabula, with the Rev. William Kraemer officiating. Burial will be in Center Grove cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday in the Allen funeral home. Christine Matthiesen was born Aug. 26, 1894 in Clinton, the daughter of Thomas and Margaret Matthiesen. She lived most of her life in the Hauntown and Sabula communities. She married Joseph Struve, Oct. 21, 1917. He died in July 1954. The deceased was a member of the Lutheran Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Luella Aude of Chadwick, Ill., and Mrs. LaVerne Dees of Honolulu, Hawaii; one sister, Mrs. Eva Andersen of Clinton, and one grandchild. Preceding her were her husband, the parents, three brothers and a sister.

Mrs. Christina Struve, died at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday in the Savanna city hospital. Mrs. Struve submitted to major surgery the day previous after being a patient for several weeks. Funeral services were held Friday in Calvary Lutheran Church, Sabula, with Rev. William Kraemer, officiating. Interment in Ceter Grove cemetery. Pallbearers were Harold Bollen, Ed Baasch, George Struve, Harold Giddings, Lester Aude & Charles Mangler. Hyms were sung by Mrs. Florence Norskow, accompanied by Mrs. Mildred Sorg. Christine Matthiesen was born August 26th 1894 in Clinton, the daughter of Thomas and Margaret Matthiesen. She was united in marriage to Joseph Struve October 21st 1917, spending most of their life in Hauntown and Sabula communities. Her husband passed away in 1950. The deceased was a member of the Lutheran Church. Surviving are two daughters; Mrs. Luella Aude of Chadwick, Ill.; and Mrs. LaVerne Dees of Honolulu, Hawaii; one sister, Mrs. Eva Andersen, Clinton, and one grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers and one sister.
