The Clinton Herald Friday July 2, 1954 p. 15 Joseph W. Struve, 61, of Sabula, died this morning in Jane Lamb hospital after a month's illness. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. He was born April 12, 1893,in Hauntown to the late William and Ella Mae Myers Struve. He was a mechanic by trade, residing in and around Sabula most of his life. He was married to the former Christina Matthiesen. Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Herman Aude Jr., Chadwick, Ill., and LaVerne Struve, Denver, Colo.; five brothers, Roy and Virtus, both of Clinton, and Harvey, Leslie and Loyal Struve of Andover, and a number of cousins, nieces and nephews. Two sisters preceded him in death.

Funeral services for Joseph W. Struve, 61, who died Friday morning in the Jane Lamb hospital at Clinton following a month's illness, were held at the Allen funeral home in Sabula Sunday afternoon. Rev. Ph. Mueller, pastor of the Calvary Lutheran church, was in charge of the services. Furnishing the vocal music were Mrs. Mueller and Mrs. Clarence Peters, with Mrs. Frank Sorg as pianist. Palbearers were Frank Schroeder, Aksel Johnson, Leon Kuhl, Marvin and Leonard Hendrickson, all of Sabula, and John Greve of Chadwick, Ill. Burial was made in the Center Grove cemetery. Mr. Struve was born April 12, 1893, in Hauntown to the late William and Ella Mae Myers Stuve. He was a mechanic by trade and lived in and around Sabula most of his life. He was married to the former Christine Matthiesen. Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Herman (Luella) Aude Jr., of Chadwick, Ill., and Laverne Struve of Denver, Colo.; five brothers, Roy and Virtus, both of Clinton and Harvey, Leslie and Lyle Struve of Andover, and other relatives. Two sisters preceded him in death.
