The Clinton Herald Saturday February 6, 1982 p. 9 The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in St. John's Lutheran Church for Hans G. Baasch, 91, of Route 3, who died Friday in Jane Lamb Hospital. The Rev. Wayne Brinkmann will officiate and burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday in Snell-Zornig Funeral Home, Clinton. Pallbearers will be Vernon Baasch, George Struve, Joe Cotton, Arlo Ketelsen, Vernon Schwartz and Herman Aude. Mr. Baasch was born Aug. 5, 1890, in Langwedel, near Keil, Germany, the son of Claus and Katherine Kniep Baasch. He came to the United States April 1, 1906. He married Flossie M. Struve, June 20, 1918, in Clinton. He farmed all of his life in Clinton County near Andover. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife; a son Edward of Clinton; three daughters, Mrs. Elvis (Evelyn) Wieck of Calamus and Georgiana and Pauline, both of Clinton; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, two sisters and a grandson.
