The Clinton Herald Tuesday November 4, 1958 p. 8 William E. Struve, 61, of Teeds Grove, died at 6:40 p.m. Monday in Savanna, Ill. City hospital where he had been a patient four months. He had been in ill health about a year. The body reposes in the Shaduck funeral home in Clinton where friends may call after 7 p.m. today. Thursday the remains will be taken to the Clinton Zion Lutheran for services at 2 p.m. Rev. M.S. Bredlow, pastor of the church, will officiate and burial will be in Miles cemetery. Rose Croix services will be performed at the grave. Mr. Struve was born near Hauntown, Sept. 9, 1897, the son of the late Paul and Anna Klinge Struve. He spent his entire life in the Hauntown-Teeds Grove area. He was a member of Zion Lutheran church, Clinton. He married Mabel Rogis, Nov. 6, 1921 in Clinton. Surviving are the widow; one daughter, Mrs. Wilbur (Phyllis) Koch of Miles, and two grandchildren: one sister, Mrs. Hans Baasch of near Almont; four brothers, Ernest and Arnold of near Almont, Franz of Woodward and George of Ogden. His parents and one brother preceded him in death. He was a member of Cyprian Lodge No. 603, A.F. and A.M. of Miles, DeMolay Consistory and Clinton County Farm Bureau. He served as trustee of Elk River township for 12 years, he was an eleven-year director on the Elk River township school board and was a director of the Miles school board nine years.
