Vernon Neff
DEWITT — Vernon Neff, 99, of DeWitt, died Thursday at Westwing Place, DeWitt.
There will be a celebration of his life at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Wesley United Methodist Church, Calamus. The Rev. Nancy Bender will be officiating. The family will greet family and friends after the service in the church fellowship area.
He was born May 30, 1906, north of Calamus to David and Agnes Kuebler Neff.
He graduated from Calamus High School and attended Browns Business School, Davenport.
He was a farmer. He did electrical wiring when electricity became available to rural Iowa.
He was a lifetime member of Wesley United Methodist Church serving on the board of trustees and as secretary and treasurer of the Sunday school.
Survivors include one sister-in-law, Thais Neff of DeWitt; one niece; and two great-nieces and one great-nephew.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church; the activity department at Westwing Place or Genesis VNA Hospice, DeWitt.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers.
