MILTON DALE GUENTHER

Milton Dale Guenther, 80, of Bellevue and formerly of Dubuque, died Tuesday at the Mill Valley Care Center, Bellevue.

There will be private family services at the Kingery Funeral Home, Bellevue. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Bellevue. Military rites will be accorded by Bellevue American Legion Reveille Post 273.

He was born Aug. 18, 1925, in Dubque to Milton F. “Tony” and Lillian Heckelsmiller Guenther. He married Lois Koppes; she died in 1969. He then married Betty Ganahl; she died in 2000.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in World War II aboard the U.S.S. Wiseman.

He retired from John Deere Dubuque Works as a fork-lift operator in 1989.

He was a member of the American Legion.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Carol (Donald) March of Dubuque and Mrs. Cindy (David) Putman of Bellevue; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Gloria (Robert) Medinger of Bellevue; two brothers, Russell (Gaynell) Guenther of Bellevue and Dennis (Mary) Guenther of Cedar Rapids; one daughter-in-law, Diana Guenther of Bellevue; and one stepson, Tim Ganahl of Dubuque.

He was preceded in death by his parents, both wives, one son, one daughter, one sister, one grandchild and one stepson.

Death Date: Nov. 15, 2005
