Kenneth E. Shelly Sr., age 85, of Goose Lake, Iowa died Wednesday, November 16, 2005 at home. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 19 at the Miller-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Preston, Iowa, with Pastor Karl Goodfellow of the Preston United Methodist Church, Preston, Iowa officiating. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery, Clinton, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, November 18 at Miller-Law-Jones Funeral Home. Kenneth was born July 2, 1920, the son of Vern and Emma (Chase) Shelly. He married Doris Anderson on May 22, 1949 in Charlotte, Iowa. Doris passed away on September 4, 2002.

Kenneth worked for C & J Service for thirty-five years. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Kenneth enjoyed the outdoors, especially farming. He was a member of the Clinton County Farm Bureau and was also a member of the Miles/Preston Methodist Church for almost fifty years.

Kenneth is survived by one son, Ken (Cindy Dexter) Shelly Jr. of Goose Lake, Iowa; one daughter, Judy (Don) Klinkhammer of Clinton, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Tom, Rich, Eric, Jo Ellen, Melissa, Kristy, Stephen and Andy; five great-grandchildren, Nate, Tyler, Alyssa, Justin and Sarah; several special nieces and nephews; and special friends from Denmark, the Cindy Hansen family.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his wife Doris; one son; one sister; two brothers and his parents.
