Steve Green

Steve Green, 53, of 10330 Shane Ct. died at 11:55 a.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2005 at home of cancer.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Saint Columbkille’s Dubuque, IA with Rev. Donald Bakewell officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Dubuque, IA. Friends may call from 2 to 8 Friday at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory 2595 Rockdale Rd., Dubuque, IA where there will be a rosary at 1:45 p.m.

Steve was born on February 19, 1952 in Clinton, IA, the son of Leonard & Alice Ann (Farrell) Green. He married Mary Ann Frommelt at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in DeWitt, IA on November 27, 1981.

Steve attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha and South Dakota University. He was a teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing for 31 years. He first taught in Sioux City in 1974 before moving to the Burlington area in 1980. He then moved to Dubuque in 1990, and worked for Keystone AEA.

Surviving are his wife Mary Ann, two daughters, Jolene and Emily, both at home. His parents, Leonard & Alice Ann Green of DeWitt; IA, a brother, Leon (Debb) Green of Iowa City, IA; four sisters, Cheryl (James) Whalen of Guttenberg, IA; Maureen (Dave) Mann of Underwood, IA; Jeanine (Mark) Gannon of Sleepy Hollow, IL; and Madonna (Brian) Farrell of Raleigh, North Carolina; his father-in-law, Dr. A.A. Frommelt of DeWitt, IA, as well as 23 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his uncles John Dodds, and Eldon Green, and an aunt Sister Charles Mary.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Dubuque, Wendt Center, Dr. Herman, Father Bakewell and the St. Joseph, Key West Church community, Keystone AEA and Dubuque School District personal, neighbors, friends and relatives for all their support and prayers.
