Virtus A. Fox 02/19/2005 DeWITT, Iowa -- Virtus A. Fox, died on Thursday, February 17, 2005, at Genesis Medical Center, DeWitt, Iowa. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Congregational United Church of Christ, DeWitt. The Rev. Ginger Taylor will officiate. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt. Friends and family may call from 2 until 6 p.m. Sunday at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. He was born December 21, 1930, at Wheatland, Iowa, the son of Henry and Lillie (Laschanzky) Fox. Virtus married Opal Schneider on May 26, 1957, in Wheatland. He retired in 1991 from Iowa Electric Light and Power where he had been a lineman for 35 years. After retirement, Virtus and Opal served as custodians at the First Congregational United Church of Christ where they were members. He loved Central Sabers sports, especially wrestling where he was their #1 fan. He liked bowling and was a Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeyes fan. Survivors include his wife, Opal; two daughters, Brenda (Mark) Ohnemus, DeWitt, and Marcia Finley, DeWitt; two sons and their wives, Kevin and Deb Fox, DeWitt, and Doyle and Lisa Fox, DeWitt; grandchildren, Matt and Heather, Tyler and Jeff Ohnemus, Dustin, Derek, Katie, Kyle, Zachary, Joshua, Creighton and Theodore Fox and Jamey and Hope Finley; and brother and sister-in-law, Roland and Marlene Fox, Lowden, Iowa.
