Donna Jean McDonnell 02/08/2005 CLINTON, Iowa -- Donna Jean McDonnell, of Clinton, Iowa, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005, at her home following a courageous battle with cancer. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 10 at Prince of Peace Parish - Sacred Heart Church. Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Pape Funeral Home where a Vigil service will be held at 3 p.m. Burial will be at St. Irenaeus Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Don, Jerry and Larry Farrell, Gene and Dick McDonnell, and Dan Larson. She was born on Dec. 29, 1925, in Clinton, the beloved daughter of Thomas and Ruby (Thompson) Farrell, and lived on the family farm in Goose Lake, Iowa, until moving to Clinton in 1986. She graduated from Goose Lake High School in 1944. On May 20, 1947, she was united in marriage to Robert J. McDonnell at St. Irenaeus Church in Clinton. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish and the Women's Auxiliary at Mercy Medical Center. The most important things in her life were her faith and the love she had for her family. Donna is survived by her husband, Robert; children, Mrs. Sharon (Ted) Witt, Clinton; Jack (Terri) McDonnell, Omaha, Neb.; Larry (Joni) McDonnell, Clinton; Mrs. Diane (Brad) Wendell, Clinton; Ken (Connie) McDonnell; Fulton, Ill.; and Don (Lynn) McDonnell, Rapid City, Ill.; and 14 grandchildren, Stacy, Matt, Phil, Lauren, James, Casey, Kati, Michelle, Mike, Heather, Rachel, Ryan, Payton, and Shay. She was preceded in death by her parents.
