Ann Losinski 02/19/2005 CLINTON, Iowa -- Ann V. Losinski, of Clinton, Iowa, died Thursday, February 17, 2005, at the Alverno Nursing Home, Clinton, where she had been a resident for last four years. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 21, 2005, at Prince of Peace Parish, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Clinton, with Father Jeffry Belger officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Paul Mertes, Daniel Mertes, John Skonieczny, and Peter Skonieczny. Visitation will be 1-5 p.m. Sunday at Schmitz Funeral Home, Clinton. The body will be cremated following the services. Ann Valerie Kotnour was born July 27, 1924, in Winona, Minnesota, the daughter of John and Marie (Kauphusman) Kotnour. She married James F. Losinski on May 8, 1948, in Winona, Minnesota. Ann graduated from Winona High School and attended St. Mary's School of Nursing in Rochester, Minnesota, where she graduated in 1946. She later received her Bachelors from Saint Ambrose College. Ann was a RN at Mercy Hospital, and later she joined the Visiting Nurses Association and touched many lives in the 26 years she worked there before retiring in 1986. Ann was a loving and supportive wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to everyone who knew her. She especially enjoyed playing cards, knitting, and gardening, and was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She and her husband were foster parents for Catholic Charities prior to their move to Clinton. She is survived by her husband, Jim, of Clinton; one daughter, Paula (Kevin) Skonieczny, of Freeport, Illinois; four grandchildren, John, Peter, Anna, and Paul Skonieczny, all of Freeport; one sister, Frances Schmidt, of Winona, Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters. The family requests that memorials be made to the Alverno Nursing Home.
