Genevieve Virginia Bailey

SAVANNA, Ill. — Genevieve Virginia Bailey, 90, of Savanna, died Sunday at Big Meadows Nursing Home, Savanna.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, Savanna, with the Rev. Thomas Moe, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Savanna Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna.

She was born April 13, 1915, in Savanna to Alvin and Mettie Lego Garrow.

She attended Savanna and Hanover, Ill., schools.

She worked as a customer service agent with the Central Telephone Co. and later Sprint, Savanna, before retiring in 1977.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Savanna Women of the Moose since 1945.

Survivors include two sons, Wesley Bailey of Savanna and Richard (Ramona) Bailey of Savanna; one daughter, Patsy Raab of Clinton; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ruth Wallat of Racine, Wis.
