Myrtle M. Rohde

CLINTON — Mrs. Myrtle M. Rohde, 79, of Clinton, died on Wednesday, November 9, 2005, at her home. She was born on February 26, 1926, the daughter of Gust A. and Minnie M. (Pugh) Vasos. Myrtle graduated from Clinton High School in 1944. She married Howard H. Rohde Sr. on June 2, 1946 in Clinton. He preceded her in death on September 26, 1996. She retired from the office at Petersen VonMaur in 1987. She formerly was president of the Irving School PTA.

Surviving are daughters; Linda (Joel) Wilson and Cynthia Rohde both of Clinton, and Christine (William) O’Nan and Charleen (Marvin) Parker both of Grandview, Ind.; sons, Howard (Terri) Rohde Jr. of Marietta, Ohio, and Richard (Luann) and Jeffrey (Connie) Rohde both of Clinton; 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; and a brother Thomas Vasos of Cedar Rapids.

Her parents, a son, Larry, a sister, 2 brothers, and a daughter-in-law preceded her in death.

Services will be held on Saturday at 11 AM at the Lemke Funeral Home - South.

Visitation will be Friday from 3 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Howard, Richard, Jeff, and Christopher Rohde, and Daniel and Bill O’Nan.
