Orville A. Reynolds

DEWITT — Orville A. Reynolds, 94, of DeWitt, died Friday Nov. 4, 2005 at Genesis Medical Center, DeWitt.

Visitation will be at the Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 4 to 7 p.m. today. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Mound.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Vanderbilt, Laura Vanderbilt, Chris Vanderbilt, Mike Oppermann, Bob Roeder and Scott Jansen.

He was born Aug. 3, 1911, near Delmar to Ernest and Minnie Holstein Reynolds. He married Margaret Schunter on Sept. 3, 1932, in Galena, Ill.

He was a graduate of Calamus High School.

He worked as an auto mechanic at area Ford and Chevrolet dealers early in his life. He then worked for Peters Motor sales first as a mechanic and then as a salesman until his retirement.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Carollyn Vanderbilt of Sabula; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Ernestine Hamdorf of North Liberty; two brothers, Lowell (Norma) Reynolds of Chatfield, Minn., and Merle (Evelyn) Reynolds of Maquoketa; and nieces and nephews.
