Carl E. Glander

WATERTOWN, S.D. — Carl E. Glander, 90, of Watertown, died Tuesday Nov. 1, 2005, at a local care center.

There will be no services or visitation. Interment will be at a later date.

He was born Feb. 20, 1915, to Edward and Christina Busker Glander in Milbank, S.D. He married June L. Fischer on Dec. 2, 1939, in Webster, S.D. She died in 1997.

He grew up on a farm south of Milbank where he farmed. He and his wife farmed for several years and during World War II they moved to Chicago where he worked in a Jeep factory. After the war, they moved to Watertown and he drove a truck for Dan Dugan for several years before driving for Old Home Bakery for more than 34 years before retiring in 1978.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Collette (Dean) Limberg of Montevideo, Minn., and Mrs. Jean (Dennis) Lindner of Watertown; two sons, Carl (Carol) Glander Jr. of Brookings, S.D., and Terry (Judy) Glander of Clinton; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, five sisters and one brother.
