CLINTON — Sharon J. Boardsen-Smith, 70, of Clinton, died Tuesday Nov. 1, 2005, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Funeral services will be at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery.

She was born Oct. 17, 1935, in Des Moines to Donald B. and Marjorie Anderson Graves. She married Danny R. Boardsen on Aug. 23, 1958, in Clinton. He died in 1987. She later married Harry J. Smith on July 3, 1993, in Clinton. He died in 1995.

She was a 1954 Clinton High School graduate and received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Iowa in 1958.

She was a school nurse with the Clinton School District for 17 years before retiring in 1997. She was a nurse with Maternal Services/Family Planning for four years and with Jane Lamb Hospital in the obstetrics department for 17 years.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Friends of the Library, P.E.O. Chapter J N, Tri S Women’s Club, National Education Association, Iowa State Education Association and was a volunteer with R.S.V.P.

Survivors include one daughter, Becky Boardsen of Boulder, Colo.; two sons, Danny R. Boardsen II of Moberly, Mo.; and Brad R. Boardsen of Clinton, Ia. ; her mother, Marjorie Graves of Clinton, Ia.; stepsons, David Smith of Sewanee, Ga., Michael Smith of Marietta, Ga., Pat Smith of St. Louis Park, Minn., and John Smith of Acworth, Ga.; four grandchildren; and five stepgrandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

She was preceded in death by both husbands and her father.
