CLINTON — Robert E. “Rip” Collins, 75, of Clinton, died Monday Oct. 31, 2005, at the Alverno Health Care Facility.

Liturgy outside of Mass will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Pape Funeral Home, Clinton. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the St. Ireneaus Calvary Cemetery where the Clinton AMVETS will conduct military honors.

Pallbearers will be Gene Ugarph, Tom Klinker, George Kampling, Michael and Sandy Kraft, Paul Kraciun, Robert Sullivan, Tom Clark, Dale Petersen, Bob Costello and friends in California.

He was born March 12, 1930, in Elgin, Ill., to Raymond and Margaret Starck Collins.

He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1948.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War from 1951 to 1955.

He was a bar manager with several private and public clubs in Iowa, Illinois, Ohio and California. He worked at the Clinton Country Club for more than nine years; Busch’s, Fulton, Ill.; and Reynolds in Clinton before retiring in 1992.

He was a member of the Clinton American Legion and the Hotel/Restaurant Employees Union.

Survivors include two sons, Terance Collins of California and Robert Collins Jr. of Clinton; one grandchild; one brother, William T. Collins of Clinton; and one sister, Marilyn Tieso of Albany, Ill.; and two nephews and three nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
