SAVANNA, Ill. - Lois M. Burkholder, 78, of Savanna, died Friday at Big Meadows Nursing Home, Savanna.

Private graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Elkhorn Cemetery, Milledgeville, Ill., with the Rev. Gary Abney officiating. There will be no visitation.

She was born Oct. 17, 1927, in rural Milledgeville to Harold O. and Annie M. Stone Sarber. She married Hase M. Burkholder on Dec. 22, 1945, in Milledgeville. He died in 1981.

She graduated from Milledgeville High School in 1945.

She worked as an aide at the Mount Carroll (Ill.) Public Library for a number of years. She and her husband worked on the family grain and livestock farm until retiring.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Peggy (William) Getz of Waynesville, Mo.; one son, Steve Burkholder of Lanark, Ill.; one brother, Wayne Sarber of Savanna; one sister, Alice Shilling of Lanark, Ill.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Genesis Hospice Group of DeWitt in her name.
