James Decker Whitted

MOLINE, Ill. - James Decker Whitted, 65, of Moline, Ill., and formerly of Clinton, Iowa, died Friday, October 28, 2005 at Oak Glen Home in Coal Valley, IL. At his request, his body has been donated to the University of Iowa. Inurnment will be at a later date in Clinton Lawn Cemetery, Clinton, Iowa. DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline, IL is assisting family with arrangements.

James was born March 27, 1940 in Davenport, Iowa to Lewis J. and Mildred Masson Whitted.

He graduated from Clinton High School in 1958 and attended the University of Dubuque in Dubuque, Iowa.

James married Jane Durr in 1961 in Clinton and later married Joan Nezerka.

He was a partner in the family business of Clinton Electric Motors, Inc. until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Joan, daughters Julie Weber of Collinsville, IL, Marsha (Paul) Loveless of Puyallup, Washington, son Douglas (Trish) Whitted of Eatonville, Washington, stepson Greg (Janea) Nezerka and stepdaughter Laura Koranda. A sister JoAnn (Jean) LaCrosse of Hampton, IL, his Mother Mildred E. Whitted of Clinton, IA, Nine Grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and three nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Lewis, brother Daniel and nephew Dana.
