LOST NATION — Nellie M. Feuss, 92, of Lost Nation, died Friday Oct. 28, 2005, at Wheatland Manor.

There will be a celebration of her life at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Union Presbyterian Church, Lost Nation, with the Rev. Paul Skelley officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Carson and Son Funeral and Cremation Services, Maquoketa. Burial will be in the Lost Nation Cemetery.

She was born April 26, 1913, in Jackson County to Floyd H. and Amelia Wiese Graves. She married Fred A. Feuss Sr. on Jan. 25, 1934, in Morrison, Ill. He died in 1983.

She attended country school and graduated from eighth grade in 1929.

After graduation, she helped at home and worked for other families.

She was a homemaker and farmed with her husband in the Oxford Junction and Lost Nation area until her husband’s death.

She was a member of Union Presbyterian Church.

She moved to Lost Nation in 1989.

Survivors include three sons, LaVern (Maxine) Feuss of Clarence, Allen (Judy) Feuss of Oxford Junction and Fred (Marlene) Feuss Jr. of Lost Nation; seven grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Eleanor (Bernie) Mishler of Maquoketa; and several nieces and nephews.

A Nellie M. Feuss Memorial Fund has been established.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, one grandchild, four brothers and four sisters.
